This general privacy policy governs your use of the Guardian Savings website (“website”). And web-app (“app”).

Guardian Savings is a tool to help families teach personal finance.

User Provided Personally Identifying Information

The app only obtains the information you provide. To use the app, you must register an account with us to use any of the features offered by the app.

When you register with us, or use the app, you may be required to provide us with:

(a)   email address;

(b)   first and last name;

(c)   any information you provide us when you contact us for help;

(d)   information you enter when using the app.

We may also use the information you provided us to contact you from time to time, to provide you with important information, required notices, reminders, support on your account (for example, resetting your password or updating your details), or occasional marketing material (unless you opt-out).

When you register a child’s account, you may be required to provide:

(a)   name

(b)   age

Information Collected from Children

The app allows children to log transactions that are happening between them and their parents. We DO NOT enable this information to be publicly available. We use this information to present a historical log of transactions over time for you and your child. You can delete transactions from the parent area of the app.

Your Children’s Privacy And Safety

We take your children’s privacy and safety very seriously.

What we NEVER do:

(1) We never knowingly collect personally identifying information from children under the age of 13, without your knowledge and consent.
(2) Where we do collect personally identifying information about your children over the age of 13, we never share this with any commercial third party companies or individuals.
(3) We never collect or share precise location information on any user, parents or children.
(4) We never have third party advertisements in our app.
(5) We never knowingly collect data from or market to children under the age of 13.

What we ALWAYS do:

(1) We always ask for approval from parents to collect personally identifying information from children under the age of 13.
(2) We always use a child-locked parental gate to manage sensitive areas of the app, where parents can delete any transactions that their children add.
(3) We always respond and quickly action any inquiries concerning breaches of privacy related to children.

If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with information without their consent, he or she should contact us at support@guardiansavings.org.

At your request, we will permanently delete and purge any such information from our records as soon as possible.

Automatically Collected Non-Personal Information

The app may collect certain bits of non-identifiable, non-personal information, automatically.

This includes information such as, but not limited to, the type of mobile device you use and its operating system, the IP address of your mobile device and general non-precise location data, the type of internet connection you use, the browsers you use to access our website, and information about the way you use the app.

This information is collected to improve user experience and enhance general security and privacy for all our users. It is never used to identify our users or ever shared with any third parties.

Data Retention Policy

We will retain User Provided Information for as long as you use the app and for a reasonable time thereafter. If you wish to delete your account, you can do so from the app or by emailing us at support@guardiansavings.org

We will retain Automatically Collected Non-Personal Information for up to 48 months and thereafter may store it in aggregate.

Managing Your Information

If you would like us to permanently delete and purge any User Provided Information that you have provided to us via the app, please send us an email to support@guardiansavings.org and we will respond and take action as quickly as possible.

Please note that some or all of the User Provided Information may be required in order for the app to function properly.

Security

We are always concerned about security and safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information we process and maintain. For example, we use securely encrypted networks to transmit all information from the app, and we limit access to this information to authorized employees, advisers, and contractors who need to know that information to operate, develop or improve the app.

Please be aware that although we endeavor to provide reasonable security for information we process and maintain, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.

Changes To This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for various reasons. We will always notify you of any changes to our Privacy Policy by posting the new Privacy Policy here.

If you are ever in doubt as to our latest Privacy Policy, you should always consult this Privacy Policy on our website, which is always kept up to date.

Your Consent

By using the app, you are consenting that you have read and understood our policies as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us from time to time. Furthermore, when you enter personal information about your children (e.g. name and age) you agree that we may collect this information.
