Frequently Asked Account Questions

  • To reset your Guardian Savings password:

    1) Go to the Guardian Savings login screen

    2) Tap “forgot password”, located directly beneath the password field.

    3) Enter your email

    4) Check your email for a link to set your new password.

  • To reset the pin to the parent area:

    1) Try to enter the parent area — you'll be prompted for the pin

    2) On the pin page, tap “forgot pin” (directly beneath the 0); enter the password for the account

    3) Check your email! You should get an email with a new 4 digit pin

    4) Use the pin that was just emailed you to access the parent area

    5) Optional: Reset the parent pin to something you’ll remember by going Parent Area >> Menu >> Parent Account Settings >> Change Pin to the Parent Area

  • Try to access our web-app at https://app.guardiansavings.org/

    If the website doesn’t load, then there likely is a content filter setup on your device. There may be a setting that limits what sites can be viewed and you’ll need to add app.guardiansavings.org to the list

    If you still aren’t able to get the app to work, the browser should be a viable alternative. You can even bookmark a website to your device's home screen so that it looks and is accessed like an app.

    Separate logins is something that’s on our roadmap to build but unfortunately doesn’t exist today. Right now you will have to share a username and password between parents.

  • You can cancel your account by the following steps:

    1) Login to the parent area 

    2) Tap "Menu" 

    3) Tap "Parent Account Settings"

    3) Tap "Erase my data, delete my account"

  • To split the allowance automatically into multiple jars:

    1) Setup all the jars. You’ll have to do this in the child area

    2) In the parent area, set an allowance for the child (if you haven’t already done so

    3) In the parent area, under the settings for the child, specify what % of the allowance you want going into each jar.

    This is a process we’re planning on simplifying with a future development enhancement, so that you can create jars directly from the parent area.
